Welcome to the Garden!
Our 2021 apprentice-designed live herb trio series will be available for purchase May through July at our farmers market locations.
Our Product Design, Marketing, & Sales Apprentices have worked hard to create special trios, thinking of culinary uses and matching the collections to spring and summer holiday activities!
This year, we are featuring one specially designed herb trio each month and when they're gone, they're gone! Each month, you can reserve the featured live herb garden and pick it up at the market location of your choice. You’ll have freshly potted, live herbs to enjoy all summer while also supporting our apprentices’ entrepreneurial development.

Your donation supports neurodivergent individuals engaged in paid apprenticeships learning job skills and developing their resume and social networking for future employment in our community!
2) Donate $50 or more and pick up one or more herb garden trios at a Fabbioli Farmers Market between 1:00-4:00. (Next market is July 25, but if you cannot make it we will coordinate another date with you.) It will be a lovely day at the vineyard with local vendors, wine, and a chance to tour our garden space. You’ll also receive three custom designed recipe cards for each garden and a receipt for your tax-deductible donation.
Note: if you simply want to donate a self-selected amount without picking up herb gardens, you can do so by choosing the custom option and entering your own gift amount.
Where does your money go?
To support neurodiverse apprentices and mentors working on carefully designed projects, learning real-world job skills in paid contract positions!
Our Design Apprentice created a custom mascot with Legacy Farms details and also designed our recipe cards.
Our Cooking Apprentice created recipes, worked in the garden to grow vegetables, and collaborated with Roots to Rise to shoot the cooking videos.
Our Garden Apprentices grew the vegetables used in the recipes, as well as all the produce to be delivered to our partners (like Roots to Rise, Lightfoot, and Loudounberry).
Our Videography Apprentice shot video, photographs, and edited the cooking videos.
Our Sales & Distribution Apprentice will receive your order, organize recipe cards to be mailed or herb garden trios to be picked up at one of our Farmers Markets.
This takes care, time, and commitment from mentors and apprentices. Your donation allows us to provide it.

What do mentors do?
Mentors support apprentices in learning job skills and working through a carefully designed 7-step program. We begin with application/interview, then coach them on personal and job development through an eight-week paid contract position with real-world responsibilities and deliverables. We also support them in reflecting on their performance and doing a self-review at the end of eight weeks, to assist in refining personal development goals and resume-building for future employment either with us, our partners, or other jobs.
How do we partner?
Legacy Farms partners with wonderful local businesses like Roots to Rise, who are enthusiastic about hiring and integrating neurodiverse workers into their staff! These companies see the many talents and benefits of neurodiversity, as do we at Legacy Farms.
We couldn’t do creative projects like this one without the unique talents, perspectives, and contributions of our neurodiverse team members. It is truly an integrated effort supporting neurodiversity, apprenticeships and community.
AND we couldn’t do any of this without your support to fund the initiatives and work involved in making our programs successful. So thank you for your contribution to our campaign.
This is how we Grow Together!
